Dr. Aaron Glass
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Aaron Glass is a 2008 graduate of Southern College of Optometry and joined Dr. Alan Byrd & Associates with the goal of specializing in pediatric eye care. He completed his undergraduate training at Liberty University in 2004 with a BS in Biology with minors in chemistry and vocal performance. Dr. Glass has a passion for helping the one out of four children who is struggling in school because of an undiagnosed functional or perceptual visual disorder. He and his wife, Heather, live in Benson with their three sons.

Dr. Stephanie Worrell
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Stephanie Worrell is a 2018 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based vision care to families. Her passion for optometry began at a young age after needing vision correction herself, inspiring her to help others achieve their best possible sight. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a particular interest in ocular disease and soft contact lenses. Dr. Worrell and her husband, Jeremy, live in Willow Spring with their three children.

Dr. Troy Swanson
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Troy Swanson grew up in Angier and developed an interest in optometry in high school after needing vision correction himself. He attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated with honors in 2010. He has worked at MyEyes Optometry since then and has enjoyed establishing lasting relationships with his patients. He provides comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages and diagnoses, treats, and comanages many eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and dry eyes. Dr. Swanson and his wife, Jenna, live in Fuquay-Varina with their two children.

Dr. Megan Carry
Dr. Megan Carry is a 2025 graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO). She continued her education through completing a Pediatric Optometry residency at KYCO, and graduated from her program in 2026. Dr. Carry completed her undergraduate training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021 with a BS in Biology and Psychology with a Neuroscience minor. She provides care for the whole family and is particularly passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential through providing visual correction and management of ocular conditions such as amblyopia, myopia, and strabismus. Dr. Carry lives in Holly Springs with her husband Ben and her cats.
Our Founding Doctor
30 Years of Dedicated Service
Dr. Alan Byrd is the founding doctor of My Eyes Optometry, beginning his journey with the practice in January 1996. A 1995 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Byrd built his career on a deep commitment to his patients, his profession, and the Fuquay-Varina community.
Dr. Byrd completed his undergraduate education at North Carolina State University, earning both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelor of Visual Science degree. Over the course of his 30 years in practice, he became known for his extensive knowledge, clinical expertise, and genuine dedication to providing exceptional eye care.
In October 2026, Dr. Byrd retired from active practice, marking the beginning of a new chapter after three decades of caring for generations of patients. His vision, leadership, and years of service have played an important role in shaping My Eyes Optometry into the practice it is today.
We are deeply grateful for Dr. Byrd’s 30 years of dedication and the lasting legacy he leaves at My Eyes Optometry. His commitment to excellence and to the people he served will continue to be an important part of our practice for years to come.
Dr. Byrd and his wife, April, reside in Fuquay-Varina.
